Ayen Energy is one of the leading electric energy producers and sellers in Turkey, especially in terms of Renewable Energy Resources. The total available power of the company is 396,15 MW. 196,90 MW of this capacity come from HPP’s, 158,25 MW come from WPP’S and 41 MW come from Combined Cycle Natural Gas. The total electricity production was 935,07 GWh in 2015, 92% of which came from renewable resources. 90% of the installed capacity is made up of renewable energy resources, which reduces dependence to foreign production and allows for benefiting from guaranteed government purchases. Ayen Group, engaging in trade activities as well, marketed the production from its power plants optimally by using all free market options in 2015. The electric energy sales of the company reached 1,517 GWh in 2015.
The fact that Ayen Energy owns a portfolio consisting of renewable and conventional production facilities minimizes the risk of production-consumption imbalance. Thanks to its storage hydroelectric power plants that it owns, the company carries out projected production activities even in precipitation fluctuations. The combined cycle natural gas power plant in company’s portfolio allows it to step in or out depending on electricity prices and increase its revenues. In addition to this advantage, the plant in question serves as a balancing unit for production imbalances of hydroelectric and wind power plants.
